Take the Australian wine scene for example - the "chilled reds" category is the largest growing category in the past 20 years. Says something about what people want to enjoy in their lives after they finish looking at Excel sheets for the day. Here's a pack to kick off your love for these delicious red wines served at a slightly cooler temp.
In this Box you will get:
Unico Zelo Mallee Gambit 2022
Viticulturally, Nero looks absolutely at home year after year in Riverland, as it’s able to achieve a balanced level of ripeness. It’s bang-on this year, and as always it looks just that little bit Gamay-esque, almost Cru Beaujolais. Really lovely sweet nutmeg and baking spice aromatics, with a woody, cedary undercurrent, backed up by these bright punchy blue and brambly black fruits.
Francois Ecot Sapucai Rouge 2021
After catastrophic weather conditions in Burgundy, François was forced to look further afield for grapes in 2021 so he approached friends over the border in Catalonia. Despite the devastation to his own vines, he was excited to work with these different varieties. A blend of Tempranillo, Syrah, Merlot and Carignan. Medium-bodied, slightly savory & delicious blend.
Alessandro Viola Note di Rosso NV
A blend of Nero d’Avola and Merlot. Aging for 6 months in used barrels. Sweet black cherries, red plums, rose water with whiffs of black liquorice. But also light sourness of cranberries, bitter-sweet herbs, a hint of coffee and cloves with cherry blossom lingering in the back. Enjoyable lightness throughout. A good drink overall.
Grape Republic Rosso 2021
This blend is crafted from co-fermented Steuben (71%) and Niagara (10%), each spending eight days on skins. It is then combined with a co-ferment of Steuben and Delaware (29%), with a six-day skin contact. After a brief maturation in stainless steel, the wine is bottled, boasting a 10.5% alcohol. Juicy on the palate, nice slosh and light crunch, thirst-quenching style.
