A pioneer of natural wines in Provence, Henri Milan stood out with his unique and new style at a time when all the local wines were the same. He used to work with Claude Bourguignon (researcher in soil agrobiology) and Claude Courtois (winemaker of Les Cailloux du Paradis), which allowed him to better understand his terroir and achieve quality standards. Since 2014, Théo, Henri's son, and his wife Nathalie have joined the estate, bringing a new lease of life, crafting elegant wines, using no chemicals, no additives and no commercial yeasts.
Papillon Blanc 2022
Luna & Gaia 2021
Noah 2020
Reynard Rebels 2022
Haru Rouge 2021
S&X 2017
Papillon Blanc features Grenache Blanc, Rolle (also known as Vermentino), Roussanne, and Marsanne, all meticulously crafted with an abundance of lees work. Appropriately named, the fragrance of this wine leisurely dances, reminiscent of a butterfly gracefully navigating through the haze of summer's warmth.
Luna & Gaia is made from 100% Rolle and is marked by light funk coming from the extended skin-contact. Orange marmalade, jasmine, guava burst on the palate and are accompanied by some pleasant salinity. Easy to get stuck into.
Noah is an exquisite rosé that reveals an intricate blend of flavors, showcasing delightful hints of strawberry, raspberry, and redcurrant, complemented by vibrant citrus undertones and a subtle floral touch. This special cuvée was exclusively created in 2020 to celebrate the joyous arrival of Natalie and Théophile's second son.
Reynard Rebels is an eccentric blend of Merlot and Carignan, two grapes famous for their big aromatics of black fruit, spice and rich, fruit-driven palate. This is a wine that you can drink straight away or even cellar for a few years if you can wait.
Haru Rouge, our bestseller of last year, is a blend of Cab Sauv, Grenache and Mourvèdre. Vibrant, perfumed, flavorsome-enough and lively. This hits the mark directly. Raspberries and sweet spice, rust and red liquorice, cloves and a suggestion of sage. Great energy here and the drinkability that goes with it. Nothing dense or heavy and yet satisfying. No hesitation.
Finally, S&X is a cuvée concocted by S(ébastien) X(avier). A rich, profound wine, with notes of black fruit, coffee and cacao. Palate: as always, there is considerable freshness – the calling card of the estate. A bottle that’s terribly easy to drink, and too quickly finished. A delight!
