Bodegas Moraza Las Tasugueras Blanco 2022
Coming from a rare white mutation of Tempranillo - Tempranillo Blanco. White cherries, slight flint and smoke. Light but fleshy on the palate, blanched almond, some apple and mandarin in the mix, a bit of grip, and lemon rind. It has a fair amount of complexity, but mainly, it’s just so good to drink. Pair with seafood or pork.
Weingut Schmitt Riesling 2022
The perfume is all citrus skin and blossoms, gentle nuttiness, the flow is of purest lime juice. Represented by a family of strong citrus characters on the palate but not shy of some tropical undertones, kiwi, papaya, pineapple skin. It does one of the great wine ‘oxymoron tricks’, being firm in acidity and soft in texture at the same time. Magic.
Abbazia san Giorgio Rosso dei Sesi 2021
Pignatello coming from volcanic soils. A wine that embodies all the Mediterranean splendor of Pantelleria. Fruit-forward wine with notes of red berries and plum, Mediterranean herbs and sea breezes. Anticipates a lean, agile and tasty sip, supported by a measured tannin and a fine sapid-mineral vein. Artisanal wine made with old style methods.
Iago Pet-Nat 2022
A very nice, characterful and positively robust pet-nat that is clean and classic in style - almost like the Georgians made a textbook qvevri sparkling wine here. A tasty drop with copious sprite and acid. Lovely in all ways. Clean and direct, sweet in the right spots - austere in others. The pet-nat craze is developing all over the world and it’s great to see that it has reached Georgia as well!
Latta Fresca 2021
This vibrant and lively Sangiovese embodies the distinctive qualities associated with Latta: a delightful lightness, succulent juiciness, and an intensity of flavor taken to the highest level. Harvested from organically cultivated vineyards in Shay's Flat, the grapes were carefully picked at an early stage to enhance acidity and preserve the utmost freshness.
