Francis Boulard Les Murgiers Brut Nature NV
This is a blend of 50% Pinot Meunier, 31% Chardonnay and 19% Pinot Noir. Rich and bold with strong acidity amongst swirls of cinnamon, cinnamon scroll with icing sugar and toasted caramel nuts. Bitter lime acidity and a bit of white liquorice. Full-on, dialled-up, feels great with a strong chill. Get the oysters out!
Weingut Schmitt Riesling 2022
The perfume is all citrus skin and blossoms, gentle nuttiness, the flow is of purest lime juice. Represented by a family of strong citrus characters on the palate but not shy of some tropical undertones, kiwi, papaya, pineapple skin. It does one of the great wine ‘oxymoron tricks’, being firm in acidity and soft in texture at the same time. Magic.
Maloof Scrambled Sticks 2021
Aged in both neutral oak and amphora. Haunting citrus rind and beeswax perfume. Followed by ripe yellow apples, pears, quince and Mirabelle plums on the palate with mouthwatering chalky tannins. It’s all about texture and layers of flavours, from mineral base through fleshy crunchy middle and aromatic skinsy scents on top.
Manon Selene 2021
Selene is the Greek goddess of the moon. Skin-contact Sauvignon Blanc that is truly portraying the potential of this category in Australia. Notably rich and layered, marked by a vibrant profile of orange lemon skin and tropical fruit. These elements contribute to creating a refreshing yet complex wine, offering depth and a lingering finish.
Vin de Lagamba Frauenpower Rosé 2022
A super interesting pet-nat coming from Alanna Lagamba. Combo of red fruit and florals on the nose. Much more character on all fronts compared to the previous two vintages. Comes out on the palate with lots of cherries, raspberries and brined plums. Juicy and simple, just the right aperitif.
Bodegas Moraza Moraza Tinto 2021
Tempranillo grown at 600 meters altitude. A fruit flavour that is open, gently developed and ready to go. It’s driven by black cherry, cranberry and black licorice flavours. Old oak is used here, so you’re drinking something that’s much lighter than the old school Riojas. The fruit keeps the energy up and the smoky, minerally aspect of the tannin helps to leave a complex impression.
