In this Box you will get:
Domaine Saint-Cyr La Galoche Rosé 2021
A blend of two Gamay varietals - d’Auvergne and Beaujolais. Macerated longer, but in a very gentle manner. It’s light, crunchy and vibrant in its nature. Put this in the fridge a bit to ante up its drinkability. All charm at regular red wine temp though too – sour cherry a strong currency, tart cranberry, woody spices and dashes of fennel, anise and white pepper.
Das Juice White 2022
A blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and a splash of Semillon all hand-picked over the course of a week. Smells and tastes like lemonade with a splash of gin and tonic and a sprig of rosemary. Sounds like a cocktail we’d like to drink but it’s slick and vinous, lengthy and pure, bright with fruit and acidity. A delicious, moreish white wine of delight.
Artesano Vintners Patatina Power 2021
This is a blend of Trepat, Moscatell and Parellada. Mike’s wines are never simple. This one is both complex and pretty. It’s sweet with cherried fruit but then it’s also herbaceous and spicy and pushed with ‘winter berry’-like characters. It’s fine through the finish, finessed, fruit winning until the finish line.
Maloof Scrambled Sticks 2021
Blend of Syrah (70%) and Muscat (30%) grown on clay soils. Totally destemmed, three day maceration of both grapes together and aging in stainless steel. The fragrance of this red is quite something. Talk about lifted. It’s peppery and perhaps a bit tomato vine-y but it also feels polished and fine. Fruit-driven palate, drinking almost like a fine Beaujolais. Incredible stuff.
Jan Matthias Klein Little Red Riding Wolf 2021
This Pinot is marked with a distinctively refreshing character, staying true to its varietal roots. Captivating and lively allure, with a medley of red berry fruit, including raspberries, cherries, and blackberries. Hints of dried thyme and rosemary in the background. A perfect match for dishes enriched with soy or fish sauce, particularly Vietnamese or Thai, even Japanese.
Longarico Insolito 2021
A blend of Syrah (80%) and Nerello Mascalese (20%). This is crisp and red fruited, earthy and chock full of saline minerality accompanied by crushed rock and a mix of dried herbs. Flavours and taste match, a little fennel in the palate too, some faint green olive a suggestion in there too. Tannins are fine and feathery but lend pucker and chew.
