In this Box you will get:
Weingut Schmitt Frei Körper Kultur Rosé 2021
Portugieser + Dornfelder blend. A rosé that screams for a party. Notes of strawberry, elderflower and raspberry, complemented by a firecracker of nutty spice. Not bland on the palate, the total opposite - kicks in the door with its vibrancy, firmness and grip. Good length with tons of vigor. A lovely thing to drink.
The Hermit Ram Dead Flowers 2022
Dead Flowers is a field blend of Pinot Noir and Gewürztraminer from a single vineyard in Waipara. It is a white and red co-ferment - partly on skins and partly direct pressed. It is then aged in a mixture of oak, tank and amphora. Crunchy and fresh with mad florals and spicy Pinot textures. It has taken the spot of the field blend in Theo's offering. A bottle doesn’t last long once cracked!
Marie & Vincent Tricot Rosé 2022
A fun frisky rosé made from Pinot Noir and Gamay spontaneously fermented in fibreglass with indigenous yeast. Soft, sour cherry, tart beetroot, cranberry and faint hazelnut characters here. Sappy texture, chalky, dry finish, gentle red fruit characters, a bit of blood orange zing and some tomato-y notes. Refreshing, vibrant, pleasing and delightful.
Grape Republic Rosato 2021
A delightful rosé crafted by blending directly pressed Steuben and Delaware, along with 6 days of skin-fermented Steuben. A touch of Niagara is then introduced, resulting in a charming, fresh, and fruity rosé. Red fruit, spice, subtle basil as well. It’s a wine of texture, with an explosion of raspberry, strawberry and watermelon sorbet on the palate. A pleasing juiciness, bright finish.
Commune of Buttons Rosé 2021
This is 100% Nebbiolo rosé that was hand-harvested and after fermentation was left on lees for 11 months. This sits somewhere close to the “chilled red” side of things, with notes of delicious fresh raspberries, nice sandy tannin and a little rusticity. It’s savoury, but also a bit juicy. Strawberries with some orange tang on the palate, salty pistachio, kind of edgy with a bite to it.
Domaine Saint-Cyr La Galoche Rosé 2021
This Gamay rosé is a staple of Raphael’s domaine, always vinified in concrete, farmed with a lot of care, simple, pure, and honest. A rosé to make you smile from cheek to cheek. Super smashable stuff, something recommended to drink with a straw from a jar of sunshine. Notes of cranberry, watermelon and pink grapefruit with a dominant sour cherry aftertaste.
