Nestled in the quaint village of Oggau in Burgenland, Austria, Gut Oggau emerged as a visionary endeavor initiated by Eduard and Stephanie Tscheppe back in 2007. Prior to venturing into winemaking, Eduard, alongside his father, crafted conventional wines in Styria, while Stephanie hailed from a lineage that owned and managed the prestigious Michelin-starred dining establishment, Taubenkobel.
The vines, neglected for a span of 20 years, proved serendipitous, purging the remnants of pesticides and chemical treatments. This fortuitous circumstance paved the way for their transition to biodynamic viticulture, culminating in the attainment of full Demeter certification.
