Con-Greg Grigoriou made Riverland a wine destination by introducing some fantastic Italian grape varieties that weren't really a thing there before. You know, Riverland used to be known for its bulk wine, but Con-Greg and a crew of fellow vignerons decided to switch things up. And boy, did they succeed!

Delinquente Jaybird 2023
Jaybird is an easy-drinking, approachable skin contact white wine. Each parcel was fermented separately – the Fiano and Chardonnay was pressed off skins straight away, while the Arinto Vermentino and Malvasia were fermented on skins until sugar dry, up to 14 days. The combination of fruit forward, acid driven and aromatic varieties, creates a thought-provoking, delicious wine.

Delinquente Tuff Nutt 2023
Fermented in stainless steel with wild yeast, Tuff Nutt was bottled under crown seal to finish ferment, resulting in the Petillant Naturel, lightly sparkling style. Bianco d’Alessano is the grape variety used here - a late-ripening, aromatic grape - giving wines marked by notes of peaches & cream, meadow flowers and yellow apple. Fizz is subtle, drinks almost like a dessert wine, but one that is FREEESH.

Delinquente Amaya 2023
All Negroamaro. Dark pink in the glass with heady bubbles, the nose leads you into that dark fruit zone – blackberry, boysenberry, with a touch of savoury herb – aniseed, fennel seed. On the mouth though, it’s all broad, mouth puckering acidity, fresh and piercing. Black cherry fruitiness really playing second fiddle to the bright crunch.

Delinquente Pretty Boy 2023
Nero d’Avola is a native Sicilian variety that is perfectly suited to the hot, dry climate of the Riverland. After crushing, the fruit was left to soak on skins for 6 hours, giving the wine it’s the lovely blush pink colour. Pretty easy-going rosè of lively cranberry, pomegranate juice vibrancy and a lick of frou-frou fruitiness to boot. A bit of citrusy tang to finish mops things up nicely.
