In spring the days get longer, the nights get shorter. The snow melts away, giving room for the sun to heat up gardens. Young plants are starting to grow, trees are budding, vines are producing flowers. Time to whip out those jars of sunshine!
We start with Kindeli’s pet nat that has a suitable name for this pack. Ultra-light, with the aromas of citrus skin, lemon balm and strawberry pie sitting nicely with the whole structure of the wine.
Llum is coming from the masters of Roussillon, delivering a Macabeu-Grenache Gris blend planted between 1919 and 2008 schist vineyards. These soils give it beautiful finesse, grace and power.
Going down south to Catalunya, where we’re greeted by Sanahuja’s Macabeu and Artesano’s Grenache-Parellada blend, both marked with lovely minerality. Zealandia brings electric energy all from Pinot Noir, while still preserving a touch of that New World ripeness. This pack wouldn’t be complete without an aged Malbec-Syrah from the godfather of biodynamic wine in New Zealand, James Millton.
