Some people are stuck on the idea that Aussie wine is still all super heavy Shiraz - or even that it truly was "only" that at one point (like in the early 2000s when the big Shiraz was super popular). That style is awesome when done right, but there's a ton of super cool climate, old-world style stuff being made here too. Get this back and let us take you on a journey.

Commune of Buttons Syrah 2021
Starting with an eccentric blend from Bink – Muscat, Riesling, Alicante Bouchet – this is something to get the party going! Easy as a glass of lemonade. We had to throw in a rosé here as well, made from 100% Nero d’Avola from Riverland. Pretty Boy, pretty easy-going rosè. Lively cranberry, pomegranate juice vibrancy and a lick of frou-frou fruitiness to boot.
Next up is a Grüner Veltliner (originally an Austrian grape) fermented in concrete eggs, giving enormous texture and drinkability factors. Show Pony is another eccentric blend, but goes more onto the savoury-saline character compared to Bink. An Aussie pack wouldn’t be complete without a pet nat and who else to deliver but Tim Wildman. All Italian grapes here. Aromatic, lively and thirst-quenching.
To wrap up we have a cool climate Syrah done just nice – in between ripeness and finesse. Delicious stuff.
