Many hold onto the notion that Australian wine is exclusively dominated by robust Shiraz, and may even believe it was solely limited to that style during earlier years (such as the early 2000s, when this varietal was highly sought-after). Although Shiraz can be exceptional when crafted masterfully, there exists a plethora of wines made in cooler climates that embody an Old World style. We invite you to embark on an exploration of these wines by acquiring this Bingo Box, allowing us to guide you through a rollercoaster of styles.
Lucy Margaux Le Vilain Gris Petillant 2022
Unico Zelo Un Petit 2022
Delinquente 'Hell' Vermentino 2022
Jauma 1000 Fires 2022
Borachio Perfect Match 2021
Das Juice Red 2022
Starting with an eccentric blend from Lucy Margaux – Pinot Gris pet-nat – this is something to get the party going! Easy as a glass of lemonade. We had to throw in a Sauvy B here as well, made by the talented team at Unico Zelo. Un Petit enjoyment. Lively gooseberry, passionfruit juice vibrancy and a lick of frou-frou fruitiness to boot.
Next up is a Vermentino (originally an Italian grape) fermented on skins for 2 weeks, giving enormous texture and drinkability factors. Jauma kicks in the door with our favourite Chenin-Sauvignon blend that goes more onto the savoury-saline character compared to Unico Zelo. An Aussie pack wouldn’t be complete without two light reds delivered by Borachio and Das Juice. Aromatic, lively and thirst-quenching.
