Joan Ramon Escoda is arguably regarded as the godfather of the Spanish natural wine world. He cut his teeth working in a large commercial winery in Catalunya before taking off to travel across France. Disenchanted by his experience in the industrial winery and spurred on by his visits to some French wineries on his trip, he decided to venture into biodynamic viticulture and natural winemaking. Grapes are hand harvested into small cases from low yielding vines. In the winery, Joan Ramon makes his wines as naturally as possible with virtually nothing added.
